Registration is open for the Training course for Wine Storytellers.
From 6 June to 8 July 2023, the Associazione Turismo in Langa in collaboration with the Strada del Barolo e grandi vini di Langa, in partnership with the International Alba White Truffle Fair and under the patronage of Ente Turismo Langhe Monferrato Roero, organizes the second edition of the training course for Wine Narrators®.
A path aimed at training new professional figures capable of making tourists and wine lovers from all over the world know and tell them about the incredible food and wine, landscape and cultural heritage of the Langhe and Roero with passion and competence.
The initiative is promoted by the Langhe and Roero District Table, set up at the instigation of the Piedmont Region with the aim of promoting synergy between the entities responsible for promoting wine tourism, soliciting collaborative actions aimed at greater sharing of activities and planning shared territory.
Wines, gastronomic traditions and high quality agri-food products are the protagonists of the Langhe and Roero area. Therefore, the main objective of the course is to train professionals capable of effectively communicating the close link between producers, products and the territory from which they are born and to involve the public by making them entertained, excite and making sure that the participants identify themselves in the history and in the values that these products communicate.
The course is structured in theoretical and practical lessons and guided tours that can promote knowledge of the history of the area, of the different terrains, of the grape varieties, of the sensory analysis of the products, of the study of the physiology of the senses.
The growing interest in tasting activities by tourists and winelovers in the Langhe and Roero areas makes it necessary to train personnel capable of telling about wines and the territory in a professional, emotional and multilingual way. This course was therefore created with the aim of training professionals who will become real “ambassadors of wines and the territory” and must be able to:
Conduct tasting seminars in an innovative way so as to arouse a positive appreciation from the participants;
Switch from frontal presentation of products to engaging events for the public;
Involving wine-loving tourists, especially foreigners, in an interactive way.
The course is aimed at sommeliers, tasters and tour guides with a good knowledge of the English language, demonstrable through official certifications shown in the curriculum or following a short interview and is limited to a maximum of 20 people: the selection will be made at the discretion of a commission appointed by the promoters on the basis of the prerequisites indicated and the willingness to conduct tasting seminars in Italy and abroad.
