SUMMARY:Vignaioli Contrari 2026
DESCRIPTION:Vignaioli Contrari 2026\nTen years of going against the grain. Ten years of winemakers who have chosen to remain faithful to the land\, to native grape varieties\, and to a vision of wine that speaks to the territories rather than homogenizing them. \nFrom May 9 to 11\, 2026\, Rocca Rangoni in Spilamberto (Modena) will host the tenth edition of Vignaioli Contrari\, a significant milestone for an event that has become a national reference point for those seeking authentic\, artisanal wines with a unique identity. \nOver 400 labels to be tasted and 70 producers from across Italy \n70 producers from across Italy and some European regions will be the protagonists of a journey that explores biodiversity\, sustainable agricultural practices\, respectful winemaking\, and an idea of agriculture that places the soil and communities at the center. Over 400 labels to be tasted will showcase an Italian wine culture characterized by micro-productions\, historic grape varieties\, and independent visions. Vignaioli Contrari is more than just a market fair: it’s a space for discussion\, dialogue\, and wine culture\, where wine becomes a tool for awareness and storytelling. \nWhat’s New for the Tenth Edition \n2026 marks a significant milestone: for the first time\, the event will be held over three days\, with the introduction of a Monday dedicated exclusively to Ho.Re.Ca. professionals. \nSaturday and Sunday will remain open to the public. This decision stems from the desire to build an increasingly strong network between artisanal producers and restaurant professionals\, fostering greater awareness of the value of sustainable and local wine. Alongside the market fair\, cultural events will return\, taking on an even broader scope this year. \nIn the evocative setting of the former church of Santa Maria degli Angeli\, the following will take place: an exclusive masterclass dedicated to a highly topical theme: “Natural Techniques in Response to Climate Change\,” to reflect on the future of viticulture; A sensory workshop exploring the pairing of Parmigiano Reggiano from different cattle breeds and bottle-fermented wines from Emilia; and the “Dining with the Producer” format\, focusing on Albana di Romagna\, a great native grape variety\, presented through four terroirs that highlight its diverse expressions. \nSlow Food Park in the square with free admission \nIn the heart of Spilamberto\, the Slow Food Park returns to enliven Piazzale Rangoni and will also extend along several streets of the historic center\, transforming the village into a multifaceted trail dedicated to conscious taste and biodiversity. More than just a market fair\, it is an open space for meeting\, connecting\, and sharing. \nOver 20 artisanal producers from various Italian regions will bring to the square mountain cheeses\, natural cured meats\, leavened products made from ancient grains\, preserves\, independent beers\, and other expressions of agriculture that respects the land and its people. Slow Food Presidia products from the Emilia-Romagna Region will also be on display\, demonstrating the movement’s commitment to protecting traditional products and virtuous supply chains. Other Slow Food Convivia from various Italian regions will also be participating\, strengthening the movement’s national reach and network. \nEach stall represents a story of local area\, biodiversity\, and sustainable work. Access to the Slow Food Park is free and open to the public\, with stands open until 9:00 PM. This is an opportunity to experience the square and historic center as community spaces\, where “good\, clean\, and fair” is not just a slogan\, but a concrete\, shared commitment. \nProgram \n2026 marks an organizational and strategic shift: for the first time\, the event will be spread over three days.
