Lands of Lives
Lands of Lives returns for the first time in spring, on 6 and 7 May 2023 at Villa Cavazza
The wines and the stories of more than one hundred and fifty winemakers from every corner of Italy, seminars and guided tastings, chefs, exhibitions, music and food trucks. Lands of Lives returns in spring, in the prestigious location: Villa Cavazza in Bomporto (MO), in the Lambrusco di Sorbara production area, and remains a unique event of its kind, essential for wine enthusiasts and above all for those who think that wine is much more than a simple drink.
It is no coincidence, in fact, if the program of this eleventh edition promises to be richer and more articulated than ever: “Every local wine like the ones we have been presenting to the public for years brings with it a story – explains Barbara Brandoli, creator and soul of the event – in the sense that it witnesses many things, including cultural changes. It’s a bit like what happens with other artistic and cultural expressions: after all, it’s an act of sensitivity like a painting, a book, a musical composition can be. This is the reason why from the very beginning we chose to build an event capable of going beyond the classic fair-tasting model.
This is why Terre di vite will once again bring to Villa Cavazza, alongside prestigious names in national viticulture, young producers little known to the general public selected on the basis of qualitative and ethical criteria. As usual, we pay particular attention to local productions by presenting a significant number of Emilian producers and giving space to the gastronomic excellences of the area.
Also this year the selection of wine producers is made by me, Barbara Brandoli, in collaboration with Roberto Giuliani, director of the online magazine Lavinium. As usual, there will be two wine tastings led by the director of Porthos Sandro Sangiorgi by reservation and a conference on technical issues, also directed by Sangiorgi, as a tribute to the producers themselves. In this edition we have confirmed the collaboration with the ass. Modena a Tavola which, through show cooking animated by their Chefs, will allow us to combine excellent culinary creations with the wines of our winemakers.”
Thematic areas on Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena and Parmigiano Reggiano organized by historical consortia. Food Trucks with Emilian specialties in the garden of the villa (which will all be set up to welcome a large audience who will be able to dine comfortably seated). Not only wine but exhibitors of excellent food from Emilia and all over Italy. We want this edition to be open to the general public and we are working hard to give the maximum welcome to families who will be able to enjoy the enormous spaces of the villa inside and out.
There will be music on both days, both in the villa and in the garden and there will be various art exhibitions, currently being defined. The main theme of this edition will be that of “THE GIFT” understood as a gift of time, of life and of the vine plants themselves through their fruit. A gift that is never only material but that mainly starts from the spiritual aspect of giving oneself or giving. The bottle of wine fully reflects this philosophy.
