On Tuesday 21 March 2023, at 8 pm, at the Ramé Terrace, on the top floor of the Gold Tower Lifestyle Hotel in Via Brecce Sant’Erasmo 185 Naples, Blend 75, in collaboration with AIS Napoli, hosts Salvo Foti.
The oenologist and profound connoisseur of the Etna wine traditions, who made Sicily of wine great, talks about himself during an exclusive and unique tasting dinner.
We are in Sicily, in the Etna area, in Milo, in the province of Catania.
A terrace on the Ionian Sea. A territory that at times seems lunar, impervious and without nature, with a cold climate different from the typical Sicilian one.
Here, Salvo Foti continues the traditions of the Vigneri, Etna winemakers, who have been committed since 1435 to “transfer” traditions, knowledge and skills, techniques and methods to protect the cultivation of each native vine in the specific place where it, in ancient times, was bred.
And today I Vigneri is the name of his cellar which operates in respect of the vine and the work done by the winemakers of the past, pursuing historical, social and technical research aimed at an “excellent” viticulture.
Non-invasive tools and systems are used in the company, respecting, as far as possible, the tradition, of their very ancient vines, without making major upheavals.
New vineyards and even centenary vineyards coexist so that each of them contributes something to the creation of a typical and unique wine.
I work in harmony with myself and with everything that surrounds me: environment, nature, Etna.
Great territory, great vines selected in the area, great wine civilization.
