DOLCETTO SUMMER FEST
Saturday 8 July 2023: a festival with music and tasty food and wine pairings to celebrate Dolcetto in all its denominations

The Strada del Barolo and great wines of Langa and the town of Rodello organize the first edition of the “Dolcetto Summer Fest”, an event to celebrate and enhance the Dolcetto wine, which collects the legacy of the Dolcetto d’Alba Festival organized for eight editions by the Municipality of Rodello.

Located at an altitude of over 500 metres, on the ridge of a hill south of Alba, Rodello is known for its cool and breezy climate also in summer and for the splendid panorama that sweeps over the Bassa Langa and the Tanaro plain and on clear days it extends up to the Alps. This will be the ideal setting for the “Dolcetto Summer Fest”: a great outdoor tasting event, which Saturday, July 8, 2023 will bring in the historic center of Rodello dozens of Dolcetto producers from different areas of Piedmont, street food with Barolo Road food producers, workshops, coocking shows, a blind tasting contest, live music and much more, to celebrate one of the most representative vines of Piedmont and discover the charm and authenticity of a village of Langa still untouched because less frequented by the usual routes of tourism.

Pleasantly fruity and excellent drinkability, Dolcetto is a versatile wine, which has many identities (there are 12 wines with denomination of origin produced with this grape), which is well suited to different foods: this is why the program of the event includes: in addition to the presence of the producers of Dolcetto, also many food stands, where you can taste the products of the territory, experimenting with delicious wine & food combinations in a festive and convivial atmosphere, accompanied by the music of … and enjoying the view and the pleasant evening breeze in summer refreshes the village of Rodello.

The program, still in the process of being defined, includes in the first part of the day a round table on Dolcetto, a blind tasting competition for professionals in the sector, a Wine&Rice Experience organized in collaboration with the Strada del Riso Vercellese quality and a Masterclass on Dolcetto for producers.

In the afternoon, starting from 16.00, will kick off the tasting dedicated to wine lovers, who can access the event by buying a wine tasting pass at a cost of 20.00 € + presale rights, which will allow you to freely taste all the wines present: dozens of Dolcetto labels presented in person by producers from the main areas dedicated to this important grape, such as Dogliani, Diano d’Alba, Ovada, Acqui Terme and the Colli Tortonesi.

Food trucks and food stands will be located throughout the historic center, next to the tasting benches of the producers of Dolcetto and in the town square will be set up a space with tables and chairs to taste wines and gastronomic products enjoying the beautiful view of the hills of Langhe and Roero.
