Cannonau Likeness International 2023

The Cannonau Likeness International event was born from an idea of Vinoway Italia, with the active collaboration of the Municipality of Oliena, with the support of Assoenologi Sardegna and with the patronage of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, has as its objective the enhancement of the main Sardinian vine, the Cannonau.
The event will have a national and international caliber involving similar vines produced in Italy in the comparison, such as Gamay del Trasimeno, Alicante, Tai Rosso, Granaccia, Grenache from the Marches.
There will also be the opportunity to compare Italian productions with French Grenache and Spanish Grenache.
Fascinated by the close bond of belonging with the Cannonau, it was decided to hold the event in the Municipality of Oliena, as this vine has been cultivated in their lands since the Nuragic age, from which the Nepente wine is obtained, flower all’ eyelet of Oliena, also praised by the poet Gabriele D’Annunzio after his trip to Sardinia. In these three days Oliena will become the hub of food and wine tourism in the Sardinia Region.
The event will last 3 days, from 20 to 22 May 2023, with an opening night in Piazza Berlinguer in Oliena, while the following two days will take place at the splendid location of the “Su Gologone” Hotel.

Cannonau Likeness International at Vinitaly 2023

Cannonau Likeness International will be presented in the Sardinia Pavilion on 2 April 2023 at 10:30 during the next Vinitaly, in the presence of the institutions of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia. Also at Vinitaly, at the Vinoway stand located in Pavilion 12 – B2, you can taste the wines produced by Cannonau.

The first edition of the Cannonau Likeness International

During the first edition of Cannonau Likeness International, the organization will create a website dedicated to the event where the participating companies will be present, to invite local and national journalists, personalities from the national and international wine world, university professors, producers, distributors, wine merchants and restaurateurs, all subjects who, through their activities, will give prestige to the event by giving life to a training meeting that will cover in-depth topics on communication, wine tourism and neuromarketing.
There will be Tasting Commissions made up of the best characters in the world of wine, distributors, Sardinian and national journalists, wine merchants and restaurateurs, i.e. the right mix to evaluate the best quality wines that will participate in the event. To ensure total transparency, the tastings will be carried out blindly with three commissions made up of a maximum of five judges. A certificate of merit will be issued to the participating wineries and the personalities who have valued the wine culture of Sardinia will also be awarded.
The event will be open to the public in the form of “Tasting Benches”, “Masterclasses” and “Conferences dedicated to the world of wine”. The event will be discussed in newspapers and regional and national television stations, giving considerable prominence to the participating wineries.
