EFEST: diVino cinema and territory is the first Festival dedicated to Cinema and the Short Filmmaker which focuses on the fascination of wine. From 13 to 15 October, screenings, meetings, workshops and seminars will be held between vineyards, wineries and museum spaces around the binomial cinema and wine with a clear objective: to promote youthful talent and documentary cinema with attention to local values. EFEST is both a Contest for young video-makers and a film festival.
Promoted by CeTrA srl (Cinema and Applied Research Theater) with the artistic direction of Sandro Dionisio, director, playwright and lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples, EFEST is realized in synergy with Wine & Thecity, the popular review that since 2008 celebrates the creative inebriation in all its forms.
The Festival touches on three emblematic locations of the territory: the vineyards of the Astroni Cellars, the Mario Franco Archives at Casa Morra – The Morra Foundation and the Pan Palazzo delle Arti of Naples.
In the vineyards of the Astroni Cellars, in the Agnano basin, work will open on Sunday 13 October. The director Romano Montesarchio meets the five young filmmakers selected in the film schools in Italy for the workshop “How a documentary is born and made”. The young video makers will challenge themselves in making notes for short films and documentaries on the places and senses of wine. The author of the best work will be given the opportunity to produce his own film project.
At the Mario Franco Archive, in the spaces of Casa Morra, meetings (with Nando Vitali and Oreste Lanzetta) and screenings for the “Cinema of Wine” section dedicated to international films and short films dedicated to the territories and will be held on Monday, October 14th. to the wine universe.
On Tuesday, October 15, the Pan, Palazzo delle Arti in Naples, will host the final evening: the director Gianfranco Pannone will meet the public, followed by screenings of the works made by the young video makers during the workshop and the awarding of the best work selected by the jury chaired by the director and screenwriter Mimmo Calopresti, and composed by Marino Niola anthropologist, Mario Franco director and film scholar, Titta Fiore journalist and president of the Campania Region Film Commission.
EFEST also gives space to photography with the Contest for Best Shot that enhances the vineyard and wine: the image will become the poster for the next edition of the festival.

Efest is a project carried out under the patronage and collaboration of the Municipality of Naples Department of Culture and Tourism and with the collaboration of the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples, the Campania Region Film Commission, the Experimental Center of Cinematography, the Morra Foundation, Wine & Thecity, and with the support of the Italian Sommelier Association Delegation of Naples.
It is twinned with the main international events on the theme: Wine Film Festival (Santa Barbara, California, USA), Wine Vero Beach Festival (Orlando, Florida, USA), Oenovideo (Bordeaux, France), Wine Country Film Festival (California, USA) , Wine & Flavors Film Festival (Lisbon, Portugal), VinoKino (Helsinki, Finland), Grossmann Film and Wine Festival (Slovenia).
