The history of Cantine Tinazzi began with the commitment and passion of Eugenio Tinazzi at the end of the ‘60s in Cavaion Veronese, on the shores of Lake Garda.

Cantine San Giorgio is a historic business in the territory of Salento, founded in 1962 as a wine cooperative. The Tinazzi family, after careful assessment, in 2012 invested in the winery with the aim and commitment to give new impulse to local wine production, enhancing the potential of the typical vines.

In the centre stands the castle, originally built in the thirteenth century by the Altesi family and completed in 1441 by the Tricerchi family. It served as a fortress for pilgrims marching to Rome on the Francigena road. Many of its decorative and structural features have been attributed to Baldassare Peruzzi.
